MILLIMETER WAVE HYBRID RECEIVER WITH MEMBRANE SUPPORTED ENDFIRE ANTENNA

Abstract. The paper presents the hybrid integration of a membrane-supported Yagi-Uda antenna with a direct conversion (video) receiver structure for the 45 GHz frequency range operation. The receiver is based on a series connection of two GaAs Schottky diodes that operates as a voltage doubler detector. A 3 directors membrane-supported Yagi-Uda antenna was fabricated using a new technologic process and a high gain of 9 dBi was measured. The antenna was integrated with the direct conversion (video) receiver structure and the hybrid receiver was tested.
