1. MINOS-EURONET INFO AND BROKERAGE EVENT: "Micro- and nanosystems call in FP7/2007”, Bucharest, Romania, 23-25 May 2007 [...details], including success stories in Convergent technologies (projects in FP6)

The new MINOS-EURONET info- and brokerage event, taking place on 23-25 May, in Bucharest, Romania (see
http://www.minos-euro.net/23-25may2007/index.htm) is basically devoted to the “micro- and nanosystems” call in FP7 (to be launched in May).

The topics are already known and they will be become official before the meeting, therefore an early brokerage event can be extremely useful for nucleating consortia which will prepare proposals. The head of unit “Micro- and nanosystems” accepted the invitation to participate to the meeting.

Other attractive features are: the registration is free or charge, moreover the printing and hanging of posters (using a certain template) can be done by the organizers (free of charge for participants from new EU member states); the brokerage is preceded by scientific presentations delivered by researchers carrying on existing projects in the same field; the local organizing team is providing assistance for hotel booking and local transportation.

Draft programme (version 2, 9th of May, 2007)

5. 4M Summer School Design and manufacture of multi-material micro mechanical systems, 30th July - 10th August, 2007 [...details]

This course is situated within the context of emerging micro/nano technologies. Micromechanical components play an increasing role in micro systems. The use of metals, polymers and ceramics for miniature components requires product development methods as well as manufacturing technologies. Product dimension will range from micrometre to millimetre. The attendees will get insights on the complete product development from requirements and technology possibilities to manufacturing and testing, in an industrial perspective. Indeed it is now well known that micro/nanotechnology is not only a matter of downscaling applications and methods.
